This class allows you to work at your own pace to improve flexibility and muscle tone. Improve your mental and physical health with exercise class designed just for seniors!

Fall Risk Assessments
Rehabilitation Services of the Medical Center of Central Georgia, in partnership with Golden Opportunities, is now offering monthly EMPOWER SENIORS Fall Risk Screenings at The Wellness Center. If you or a loved one is concerned about falling, you are encouraged to attend this FREE screening to identify your risk for falling and to receive skilled advice on what paths you should take to decrease that risk and increase your independence!

Monthly:
Appointments are scheduled every hour.

Art from the Heart
If you have ever wanted to paint but thought you did not have the talent, these decorative painting classes are for you. This four-part skill building and advanced technique series will take you through four levels of the One Stroke painting method developed by Donna Dewberry. One Stroke Certified Instructors, Mary Parks and Shirley Rainwater will teach each class. They have inspired hundreds of people in Central Georgia to let their "creative juices" flow and experience the joy, relaxation, and satisfaction of painting. All supplies are furnished so just bring your smiles with you!

Fee: $35.00 per class
Cancer WellFit Project
The Cancer WellFit Project is a FREE oncology recovery program that offers cancer patients the opportunity to return to their fullest physical, psychological, and emotional potential. This is a program of specifically prescribed exercise, combined with education and support. Each two-hour session includes exercise followed by education on coping skills, steress management, pain management, complementary/alternative medicine and group support. The 12-week program meets 3 times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00-11:00 am.

The generous support of Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Tobacco Use Prevention Program, American Cancer Society, MedCen Community Health Foundation, H.E.A.T., Thomas Burke Foundation, Elkin Foundation, Medical Center of Central Georgia Retirees and MCCG Auxilliary make it possible to provide this program at no cost to all Central Georgia citizens diagnosed with cancer.

Camp Fun n' Fit

During the Month of June

Camp Fun n' Fit is a month-long summer camp for children ages 6 - 13. The camp is designed to get children up, out, and active. Children are encouraged to get up from the sofa, computer, and game stations - get out into the sunshine and outdoors and get active by introducing them to a diverse set of activities to help them get moving!  Children can attend one week or all four weeks!

Classes include nutrition, fitness, group exercise including yoga, tai chi, dance, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, tae kwon do, and much more.

Field trips and swimming make for a well-rounded program for youth to be healthy, well and fit! Goals of the program include campers' increased knowledge regarding health and fitness, dietary needs and understanding the risks of sedentary lifestyles.
